The name inquiry searches for the letters you type in the order you type them. You do not have to enter the first name. You may enter the middle name or middle initial next to the first name. (Example First Name: Daniel Herbert or Daniel H)
The name you enter must match the way that name is spelled in this database. For example, if you enter the last name Rodgers, but the name on file is Rogers, you will not find the listing. You may enter a partial name, but you must enter at least the first 2 letters of the last name. If the last name is only two letters long, type a + (plus sign) after the last name. The plus sign is a wildcard character that will prompt the system to complete the search.
Advanced searches - If you are uncertain of the some of the characters in a name, use an asterisk to take their place. The asterisk is a wildcard character that substitutes for unknown characters. For example: Last Name: ro*ers.
Date of birth is optional. It works by exact match. An inquiry can only be made on a full date of birth (a month, date and year). You may run separate inquiries using different dates of birth, or you may leave this field blank.
The sex and race fields are also optional. They work by exact match. You may use any combination of these fields, or you may leave them blank. Leave the race field blank to search all races. Leave the sex field blank to search either sex.

All Harris County Criminal System records about a particular person, including names, dates of birth, last known address, physical descriptors, and case information, are stored under the SPN and can be accessed with the SPN.
Everyone who is connected with a Harris County criminal case receives a SPN. This includes not only the defendant, but also the judge, defense attorney, bond surety, witnesses and court reporters.
If a person has three different names in the system, but only one SPN, there is no need to inquire on the various names. All Harris County Criminal System records about that person are listed under the SPN.

The CDI (court division indicator) designates the type of court hearing the case. The County Criminal Courts at Law hear class A and B misdemeanors and bond forfeitures arising out of these cases. The Criminal District Courts hear felonies and bond forfeitures arising out of felony cases.
To inquire on a class A or B misdemeanor or a felony, type the 7-digit Harris County case number. To inquire on a bond forfeiture, type the 12-digit Harris County case number. (Because a bond forfeiture involves new action arising from an existing case, the case is identified by the original, 7-digit case number followed by a 5-digit suffix such as 0101A.)
This system only provides records about cases filed in Harris County, Texas. It does not contain information about cases filed in other jurisdictions such as municipal, state or federal courts or courts in other counties.

Inquire on one number at a time. Type a social security with no hyphens, or type a driver’s license number. If the driver’s license was issued by a state besides Texas, select the appropriate state.
If the number you are using has not been entered into the Harris County Criminal System, you will see the message: "No Records Found." You may want to try a name search. It is possible that the number you are using has not been entered into the Harris County Criminal System.
People have been known to use other people’s IDs. If a SSN or DL inquiry links to a different name record than you expected, it is possible that one person used a different person’s number.
This system is not linked to and does not search any other database besides the Harris County Criminal System. A SSN or DL search will only access records if that number is in the Harris County system.
